Childcare Seminar 2006 Strengthening the Early Childhood Community

Advent Links was proud to have its own students sharing their research on the following subjects in the seminar:

Ms Shirley Tan - Raising Resilient Children - looking into the resilience factors of children and the issue on children's coping mechanism and parents dynamism.

Mr Stanley Tan - The Effect of Television Advertisement on Childhood Obesity - a study on the relationship; of food advertisements on TV with childhood obesity.

Ms Sadiah Shahal - Impact of Childcare Exclusion Policy on Working Mothers - a qualitative research on the challenges faced by single mother and a mother in a nuclear family, when their children in childcare centers fall sick. (Ms Shahal graduated in 2005 with the Diploma in Pre-school Education Teaching and Leadership and the Bachelor of Arts in Childhood and Family Education. She was presented with the Goh Boen Seng Academic Excellence Award).
