History

Advent Links-SAUC is a training centre that offers early childhood teacher training courses for adults that would like to obtain teacher certification under Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA). ECDA is an autonomous agency jointly overseen by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as well as the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), and is hosted under the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Since it commenced its operations in 1998 during which the Early Childhood Education (ECE) was still in its infancy stages, Advent Links contributed many of the curricular ideas and professional training as a pioneer educational entity, and many of its programs have been adopted and adapted by other institutions. Many of the early ECE workers and school principals can trace their roots to Advent Links.

Today, Advent Links remains as one of the few accredited training institutes still left standing, and continues to develop ideas and programs to meet local needs, as an alternative to the publicly supported programs instituted by the Singapore government agency – Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).

Advent Links has also been engaging in conversations with public service agencies and developing training programs for adaptation into ASEAN settings, and continuing to work with foreign educational institutes to help advance its programs.
